Annotation
Manual for physicians dedicated to the application of manual therapy in regenerative treatment of patients in the early stages after surgery on the thyroid gland. Differentiated use of manual therapy enhances the effectiveness of treatment, increase the duration of remission, preventing the development and progression of complications of the disease.
Manual for physicians is intended for use in physical therapy offices, chiropractic therapy, hospitals, clinics and spa facilities. The examination and treatment of 20 patients with thyroid disorders were held, among which the majority (16 people) consisted of patients with autoimmune thyroiditis, and 4 people had a history of resection of the thyroid gland.
During treatment, patients continued to basic medication, dose and frequency of taking the drugs have not changed.
After a course of treatment improvement of clinical status of patients was marked, as well as normalization of muscle tone concerned, elimination of the functional blockades, increased range of motion in the cervical spine. Manual therapy also provided a normalizing effect on lipid metabolism, blood flow and the condition of the skin microcirculation, helped to increase physical performance. In evaluating the clinical efficacy of treatment, improvement was seen in 60% of cases, a significant improvement – in 40% of cases. The duration of the therapeutic effect in most patients remained 6-12 months.
As a result of this, the implementation of the work methods of manual therapy in the practice of rehabilitation of patients with thyroid pathology seems promising.
