Scientist from UK have invented a «dry water»

Within the project of fight against the global warming, a scientist from the UK presented its invention: water in the form of powder. In his opinion, it should be an effective tool in decision of the problems of environmental pollution. This thing was first demonstrated at a scientific exhibition in the USA. The substance consists of only two components: water and silica. Despite the small amount of the second component (about 5%), the substance is obtained as a powder.
Lead researcher Ben Carter said that «dry water» is several times better than ordinary water. Besides the fact that it is able to absorb certain kinds of gases, it also has «available» opportunity to join with other immiscible liquids. For example, the substance can easily be united with the petrol, and ordinary water can’t. The scientist believes that transportation of hazardous materials in future can be to several times safer because his invention. This, of course, will benefit the environment.
